Estimator Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an expanding Bodyshop within the Automotive Industry. The successful Bodyshop Controller/Estimator will have a previous working experience as a Controller within a similar environment and will have strong customer service, leadership, and communication skills.

ProRepair is a growing bodyshop that is working to be a leader in car repairs in the West Midlands. As part of a larger group of companies, we have access to support resources and a management team which will help drive our aggressive growth plans which will provide opportunities for all of our staff.

We are looking for an experienced Bodyshop Estimator with strong administrative skills. You must be a team player as you will be working closely with the productivity of the staff and planning and prioritising the flow of work through the body shop.

The role includes -

  • Meeting and greeting customers

  • Discussing repair requirements, creating necessary paperwork

  • Creating & monitoring the estimating process

  • Booking vehicles into the workshop

  • Organising the allocation of courtesy cars

  • Monitoring job cards and prioritising workload

  • Carry out quality control reports

  • Liaising with various insurance companies to authorise repairs & supplementary changes

  • Taking payments including insurance excesses where required

  • Preparing job cards

  • Maintain accurate files

  • Provide progress reports on a regular basis

  • Maintaining contact with the customer to include repair progress & agreeing completion times where required

  • Overseeing collection/deliveries, final valeting & organising estimates

  • Organising workshop & flow to maximise productivity during the repair process

  • Adhering to insurance SLAs & keeping within insurance key to key times and deadlines

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all body repairs and paintwork meet defined quality procedures, promoting inter-department co-operation as well as ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures will all be part of the role.

In-depth understanding of Vehicle Paint & Body repair along with strong organisational and people skills are essential, including -

  • ATA certification

  • Experience of Audatex accreditation

  • Maintaining Autoflow & Ezi-Methods

  • Strong customer service skills
